ROTARY DRYER
Rotary dryer also known as tumble dryer is equipment used to minimize the moisture content of the feed material by making it in direct contact with the heated gas. It consists of a long inclined drum or cylindrical shell often fitted with internal flights or lifters; rotated slowly on bearings through which the material to be dried flows in a cascading, cascading motion simultaneously (for heat sensitive materials) or counter current flow with the heating air or gas.
The movement of material is caused by the combined effect of horizontal inclination of the shell and internal tumbling action or mechanical shifting so it is called tumble dryer. The nature of the feed determines the direction of gas flow through the cylinder and relative to the solids. This drying equipment can also carry out batch or continuous processing of wet feed.
